A house at Kakuma Refugee Camp in northwestern Kenya sits empty, its occupants on the move, back to their homes to resettle and start their lives again. In 2007, The Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service assisted 4,686 refugees as they voluntarily left the camp to return to their homes in southern Sudan. Many took the roofing material from their houses at the camp to use in building new shelters in their new homes.More » |
