Lutheran World Federation/Department for World Service Kenya/Sudan Programme is seeking to recruit a Kenyan national for the following positions, to be based in Kakuma Refugee Camp.
1. Responsible for developing and improving the various Logistics systems namely procurement, transport, general food distribution, transport and warehouse.
2. To enhance the control systems in procurement, transport, general food distribution and monitor the logistics systems by conducting regular and timely checks and inspections on various key control points.
3. Responsible for control and management of all goods and supplies that are used by LWF/DWS kakuma program, enabling the effective and timely implementation of the program.
4. Responsible for getting the right things to the right place at the right time at the right cost through the established procedures of procurement (locally or internationally), delivery and storage, transport and supply, detailed specifications of goods and equipment needed.
5. Responsible for overall planning, coordination and implementing of food and non-food items to the entire camp population
6. Overall planning , coordination, and implementation of food and non food items distribution to the camp population.
7. Responsible for directing the development and continuity of operational procedures and sound management of warehouses and the field logistical activities to ensure cost effectiveness.
8. Responsible for preparation of budget proposals and workplans for the Logistics department.
9. Planning and scheduling of transport requirements in coordination and consultation with the Project coordinator, Nairobi logistics and Finance Department.
10. Monitoring the use of vehicles and ensuring adequate controls over the use and movement of LWF/DWS vehicles
11. Participating in procurement process to ensure adherence to the laid down procedures. To provide the local procurement committee with the goods and services to be procured, advise on the contract renewal /cancellation or extension.
12. Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and mechanical workshop budgetary preparation, proper control of resources, timely reports and regular checks on workshop controls.
13. Ensures that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained.
14. Any other duties that may be assigned by the project coordinator from time to time
1. A degree or higher national diploma in Store, Logistics management from a recognized university is the preferred qualification, a degree in a related discipline would also be considered.
2. Fleet management training is an added advantage.
3. Proven training or experience in a project development and implementation.
4. Excellent Computer skills.
5. Working knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles, laws and standards.
Relevant Experience:
1. At least 3 years of progressive experience in development or humanitarian proramme.Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage.
2. Strong analytical, and documentation skills in transport, procurement and stores management.
3. Experience in proposal and report writing.
4. Strong representation and negotiation skills in working with UN organizations, partner agencies (NGO) and coordinating activities in a multi- sectoral setup.

JOB DESCRIPTION For the post of Logistics Officer
The Logistics Officer will be based in Kakuma and shall be responsible for coordinating and overseeing operational plans in the Logistics Department as assigned by the Project Coordinator. He/she will work to improve the proper operations, management and improvement of the Logistics Department. The incumbent will report directly to the Project Coordinator, while working closely on a daily basis in collaboration with other sectors of LWF.
Key Points of Communication: Project Coordinator, and the Kakuma Senior Program Officers
1. Requesting and purchasing of supplies.
2. Receiving, Storing, delivery and Distribution of Supplies
3. Transport (Personnel and Materials)
4. Food Distribution Management
Duties And Responsibilities
Professional Qualifications:
1. A degree or higher national diploma in Store, Logistics management from a recognized university is the preferred qualification, a degree in a related discipline would also be considered.
2. Fleet management training is an added advantage.
3. Proven training or experience in a project development and implementation.

2. STORE / WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR -1 Position
Duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Receive stocks to the Kakuma Refugee Camp from suppliers, check and verify them according to the delivery notes.
2. Ensure appropriate documents for receipt and issues are raised by the store keepers.
3. Liase with other departmental heads for timely requisition and supply of stocks. i.e monitor stock level.
4. Receive all stocks returned to stores from the field or any other location.
5. Ensure timely dispatch of sample items and/or other items being sent to LWF Nairobi.
6. Ensure that warehousing controls and procedures are practiced/adhered to
7. Conduct self audit as well as quarterly physical stock count and highlight to the Logistics Officer for discrepancies and/or obsolete/slow moving items.
8. Ensure all stocks are securely stored and free from theft, loss and/or pilferage.
9. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management and/or the logistics Officer from time to time.
10. Timely submission to finance/Account Department all invoices from suppliers, related GRNS, and any other supporting documents.
Special assignment
1. Management of stores, storekeepers and casuals.
2. Custody of LWF stocks and assets.
3. Proper record keeping and timely reporting

JOB DESCRIPTION For the post of Warehouse/Stores Supervisor
The Stores Supervisor will be based in Kakuma and shall be responsible for LWF Warehouse in Kakuma and coordination all warehouse activities in the Logistics unit. He/she will work to improve the proper operations, management and improvement of the warehouse in Kakuma. The incumbent will report directly to the Logistics Officer, while working closely on a daily basis in collaboration with other sectors of LWF.
Key Points of Communication: Logistics Officer and the Kakuma Senior Program Officers

3.Automotive Mechanic Position, Ref. No. -------
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain and repair LWF vehicles in accordance with the vehicle manufactures standards.
2. Ensure all relevant safety procedures have been followed when repairing and fitting replacement parts.
3. Conduct routine regular vehicle inspections of all LWF motorcycles, vehicles and trucks.
4. Diagnose faults and identify the parts required to effect maintenance and or repairs.
5. Specialize in automotive electrical systems, air conditioning system, suspension system, braking systems, and body works and painting.
6. Specialized knowledge of automotive quality control, diagnostic and fault finding, road testing.
7. Assist in training staff on effective vehicle maintenance.
8. Ensure that log books are maintained for all the vehicles, detailing trip, fuel and service records.
9. Monitor maintenance and repair needs of all vehicles and report such needs as well as other concerns, incidents or accidents to his/her supervisor and ensure that all procedures are adhered to by drivers, as far as vehicle security, passenger safety and vehicle maintenance are concerned.
10. Ensure that all necessary documentation (i.e License, Insurance, other) for each vehicle is valid and on the vehicles.
11. Prepare manifest s according to vehicle capacity prior t traveling dates for vehicles transporting passengers from Kakuma. He/she should inspect the vehicles prior to take-off to ensure that only passengers on the manifest travel.
12. Establish and order a listing of standard tools required for service and maintenance of LWF fleet and equipment.
13. Report any defects with any vehicles, motorcycles or equipment which cannot be immediately repaired in the LWF workshop and initiate timely action to be repaired from Kitale, Nairobi or Lokichogio.
14. Ensure that all required automotive equipment, parts and tools are timely ordered, received, stored safely and securely.
15. Carefully record all work done and parts used in the LWF vehicle log books and workshop job cards.
16. Produce periodic reports for vehicle condition, repairs and maintenance.
17. To assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by his/her supervisor.

Job description for the post of Mechanic
The Mechanic will be based in Kakuma and shall be responsible for coordinating the Transport unit and reporting to the Logistics or designated officer in that position. He/she will work to improve the transport coordination of staff and goods as required. The incumbent will report directly to the Logistics Officer, while working closely on a daily basis in collaboration with other sectors of LWF.
Key Points of Communication: Logistics Officer, Sector Heads, Unit Heads.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Complete Secondary School Education(KCSE)
2. Diploma or equivalent in motor vehicle engineering.
3. Over 2 years progressive experience in motor vehicle/transport equipment maintenance.
4. Be in possession of a valid driving license class BCE.
5. Demonstrate ability in diverse transport operations.
6. Ability to review alternative options and select most effective and cost efficient mode of transport.
7. Good coordination and efficient planner in transport operations.
